Just when I thought $4 gas was a pain in the... wallet... comes this story from today's Barnstable Patriot: Hyannis gas most expensive on Cape.
$4.29 in some places? Are you kidding me?
Moral of the story? Don't gas up on the Cape, unless you can make it all the way to Harwich or Provincetown.
I avoid refueling on the Cape, if I can. Stop & Shops in Wareham, Plymouth and Pembroke are my most frequent stops, but I also stopped at BJ's in Plymouth for the first time yesterday. The member price was $3.95 as of yesterday morning, compared to $4.03 for everyone else. Never mind the bulk dry goods and other groceries we buy there once a month. The savings from gas alone will pay for the membership fee by the end of the year.
