When last we left our intrepid commuter, he was blogcasting his favorite foodie podcasts. Today, we kick the testosterone up a notch to share the sports-related podcasts that are filling the iPod.
- ESPN Radio: Best of Mike & Mike -- When I am on the road, after I've watched a full round of SportsCenter, I like to flip over to ESPN2 to watch Mike & Mike simulcast their radio show. Yet when I'm home, I never stick around the house long enough in the morning to follow the same pattern. I recently discovered, however, this podcast of the show's highlights in iTunes. Perfect.
- ESPN: The B.S. Report with Bill Simmons -- Bill Simmons and I are the same age, and share the same allegiances to the same sports teams. So there's enough for me to enjoy in that alone. But the other thing I like about Bill is he tosses a salad that is equal parts sports and pop culture, and he is always out of the box (and occasionally off his rocker).
- ESPN: Fantasy Focus Football -- Speaking of "off his rocker," Matthew Berry is the leader in the clubhouse in that department. He, Nate Ravitz and their gang provide valuable insights for any competitive fantasy football team manager. Note: Their football show is dormant in the off-season, when they are in high gear on the Fantasy Focus Baseball podcast, but I am not managing a fantasy baseball team this year, so I haven't switched over.
- WEEI: The Big Show Whiner Line: This is my guilty pleasure (although truth be told, I don't feel that guilty about it). I rarely am in the car at 5:50 p.m. when this segment plays live. So I just subscribe to it in my iTunes (feed). I might be a few days behind at any given time, but the bits never really get stale.
