Driving under the influence of cereal

I've seen some strange things out there on the roads: Shaving and driving, applying makeup and driving, reading and driving, texting and driving, dancing and driving, nose picking and driving....

But if I were to see someone eating cereal and driving, I think I might just call it quits right there. Pull over to the breakdown lane, and call it a day.

Guess it's a good thing I did not witness this erratic driver in Needham earlier this week, according to the Needham Times.
While checking the status of the man’s license, police discovered the license had expired. And while doing an inventory of the car, police spotted a bowl of milk with cereal, which was still cold. The suspect reportedly told police he was hungry and was eating the cereal.
The story is missing a key ingredient, however (as was the Globe's version). What kind of cereal?

I have to suspect it wasn't Lucky Charms.

The driver is probably lucky it wasn't Cheerios, though, or we could be talking a felony, now that the FDA has warned General Mills that the marketing might classify the product as a drug.
